How to Multiboot Procedures
demonstration of multiboot procedures.
Sometimes it is necessary to have more than one operating system installed in the computer. In those situations, the user must perform the installation of one OS, install a boot manager and then install the second OS. A boot manager is a program that is located in the boot sector and allows the user to choose which OS to use at boot time. By tracking the partition where a specific OS was installed, a boot manager can direct the BIOS to the correct partition, allowing it to load the desired operating system.
A popular boot manager for Linux is grub. For macOS, a common boot manager is boot camp.
